Job Description

As a mechanical engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical products from concept to commercialization
  • Develop products by studying customer requirements, researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods
  • Participate in concept development and engineering design – industrial and form factor design, custom housing development, mechanical component selection, 3D part and assembly design
  • Generate design and assembly documentation, bills of materials, RFQs, and purchase orders
  • Identify and interface with vendors and contract manufacturing partners to ensure quality and timely delivery of off the shelf, machined parts and custom components for prototype and production assemblies
  • Perform design modifications to prototypes
  • Improve existing designs to support industry needs and client requests
  • Prepare product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components
  • Provide support as needed to help operate and grow our overall business

Job Requirements

  • Has developed products from concept to commercialization
  • Possesses a keen understanding of mechanical design principles as it relates to medium scale product development/production
  • Has 5-15 years relevant experience developing products and working with a diverse team of engineers
  • Must be a self-starter and be capable of managing a constantly changing, varied task load with minimal supervision
  • Has a keen understanding of fabrication principles, materials, fasteners, and tolerance analysis; hands on machine shop or prototype shop experience a plus
  • Experience designing parts for injection molding and product packaging a major plus
  • An eye for aesthetics and industrial design
  • Experience working with the Inventor Solid Modelling Software
